We have more than 20 years experience in
environmental analyses, landfill management, coastal protection and environmental impact assessment.
Several activities for Oil&Gas and conventional industry have been performed since 2000, supporting large companies like ENEL, ENI, TOTAL, as well as national and regional institutions and municipalities.
In the Environmental sector, we provide engineering and consulting activities such as:
Water Resources Management and optimization by using mathematical models
Characterization of quality status surface and sub-surface water bodies.
Site assessment
Permitting Phase
Design of remediation strategies (for landfill areas or contaminated sites).
Site remediation
Noise analysis and mitigation
Compliance Services
Legal Advisor Services
Environmental monitoring and screening
Environmental impact assessment (ESHIA, IPPC report, etc.)
Environmental monitoring
Environmental modelling and geostatistical analysis:
- surface water flow and hydraulic modelling (flooding predictions and models for assessing response plans in case of flooding);- groundwater flow modelling;
- surface and sub-surface water contamination (e.g. hydrocarbons release, industrial pollution events, oil spill studies)
- coastal hydrodynamics, air quality, oil spill studies.
Subsurface modelling
Hydrological modeling at the basin scale
To support water resources management and planning
Modeling of groundwater flow, contaminant transport and salt intrusion in groundwater
To support remediation clean-up design or other project (MODFLOW, SEAWAT, FEFLOW)
Modeling of heat transport in groundwater
To support the planning of geothermal plants at very low-low enthalpy (SEAWAT, FEFLOW)
Site remediation
Design of the hydraulic confinement system
Site engineering of the Pump&Treat system
Calibration of the hydraulic confinement system
FREEWAT (Free and open-source software tools for water resource management)
A European software development project
Although a lot of science is produced on Water Resource Management (WRM), especially in the ICT sector, WRM is still today poorly addressed via scientific means.
This is due to several reasons:
- underrated importance given at political and decision makers level;
- missing digital capacity at agencies and governing authorities.
TEASistemi had led the software development activities within the European H2020 project FREEWAT (2015-2017), taking advantage from the long and referenced experience of its specialist, to apply cutting-edges methods and software tools to simulate environmental processes.
TEA enhanced the application of the main values underpinning the collaborative software development, namely:
open-mind approach, multidisciplinary team, innovation-driven usage of available methods and tools.
users are applying FREEWAT as a business tool
